How to log on at GRC: Login tips

This guide explains how to access your student email, Canvas classes, Microsoft Office, and campus computers.

How to Log In at Green River College

Campus Computer Network

This log in will be used for your access to on-campus computers, the GatorNet WiFi network, the printing network (including wireless printing), copy machines, and to place holds and check your items in our online library catalog:

Windows 10 computers

Campus Computer Network Log In Steps

  1. On a computer connected to the wired on-campus network (in a classroom or open lab), hold down the Ctrl + Alt + Delete keys.
  2. You will see the network log in screen. If you need to set up (or reset) a password, select the "Sign-In Options" at the bottom of the screen.
    • Note: You must create a new password each quarter
  3. ​​Select the option for resetting your password: it will look like a key icon with a tag attached (alt text on mouseover / selection: "If you forgot your password, use the Self-Service site to reset the password by...") 

  4. Select the "Open the Self-Service site" option

  5. Follow the steps in the "Password Reset Tool" to log in and click on "FORGOT MY PASSWORD," you will be given options to set up a new password. When finished setting up your new password, close the window to return to the log in screen (click "x" in the upper-right corner).

  6. On returning to the login screen, you will now be able to use your student ID number (username) and the password you set up to log in.

  7. To sign out: hit Ctrl + Alt + Delete again.


Windows 7 computers

Campus Computer Log In Steps for Windows 7

  1. On a computer connected to the wired on-campus network (in a classroom or open lab), hold down the Ctrl + Alt + Delete keys.
  2. ​​Select the option for resetting your password: it will read "Forgot My Password" below the log in boxes.
    • Note: You must create a new password each quarter
  3. Follow the steps in the "Password Reset Tool" to log in and click on "FORGOT MY PASSWORD" again when you have the option. You will be given steps to set up a new password. When finished setting up your new password, close the window to return to the log in screen (click "x" in the upper-right corner).

  4. On returning to the login screen, you will now be able to use your student ID number (username) and the password you set up to log in.

  5. To sign out: hit Ctrl + Alt + Delete again.

Student Email

Student email log in steps

  1. Go to the Green River College homepage:
  1. Go to the Student Support links list (near bottom of the page / content), and click Student email & password reset. (Or the link below will take you to the same place--)
  1. At the Student email & password reset page, you have different options:
    • Log in to My Email: if you already know your password, use this to go to the log in screen.
    • Look Up my Email: This will allow you to look up your GRC email address even if you're not sure what it is.
    • Request a Reset: This option allows you to request a manual email password reset from the college. Use this option if you did not set up the password recovery options that use another email or a mobile number with your GRC email account. If you did set up password recovery with your GRC email, you can reset your password yourself on the email log in screen.

Canvas

Your Canvas log in is the log in you will use to access online class materials and other items your instructors may wish to share with you online related to classwork. It is different from your email or college network log in.

Canvas log in steps

  1. Go to the Green River College homepage:
  1. Go into the Quick Links menu (upper-right corner of the page) and select Canvas. (Or selecting the link below will take you to the same place.)
  1. Log in to Canvas using your Green River email address as your username, and either your student ID number or the password you've chosen for Canvas as your password.
