During open hours the Information Commons Reference Desk is staffed by Faculty Librarians who are available to help with information and research.
Student-workers provide additional technology and computing assistance.
More than 150 computers are available for use by currently registered students. A limited number of laptops are available for check out. There are also a limited number of library research computers openly available to public patrons (limited to most college sites, library resources, no printing on the library research computers).
The open student lab computers are available on a first-come, first-served basis, and provide
access to various online research databases, course-related specialized software, Microsoft Office and full Internet access.
It is Green River College's Policy to provide reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities with advance notice of need. If an accommodation is needed for any reason, please contact Disability Support Service (DSS) by phone (253.833-9111 ext. 2631), in person (SA 274), or via email (firstname.lastname@example.org). To read more about DSS please see below (Disability Support Services).
Holman Library and TC have computer hardware and software provided by DSS for students registered with DSS. In the library the two DSS computers are just west of the Reference Desk.
Current students are allocated 80MB of server space on the Green River "H: Drive". All contents of the H: drive are erased at the end of Spring Quarter. Save your work often, both to a USB drive and your H: drive.
The H: drive can be accessed from networked computers on campus, or through the student Virtual Desktop:
In addition, current students have access to 1 TB of storage on their Microsoft OneDrive accounts.
Holman Library and the Tech Center Open Lab have black and white copiers, scanners, and printers available for GRC student use. Printers are available for black and white and color printing. Copiers and printers use student PaperCut printing points - for more information on printing points and usage, please see the Printing tab in this guide.
ADA accessible stations are available in both Holman Library Information Commons and the Tech Center Open Lab.
