Campus Computer Labs

Log on to Campus Computers

Log in to the campus network to use Holman Library and TC computer labs, the GatorNet WiFi network, the printing network (including wireless printing), copy machines, and to place holds and check your items in our online library catalog

Step by Step for Windows 10 Computers:

If you have already set your password for your student email account ending in @student.greenriver.edu, select "Other user" at lower left of computer monitor (you may see the name of the last user on that computer):

  • log in with your email address and email password

If you need to reset your password, you can do so from the log in screen:

  1. Select "Other user" at lower left of computer monitor
  2. Click "Reset Password" under the log in boxes
  3. Enter your email address and then the characters in the picture or words in the audio
  4. Select you contact method for verification
    • Text your mobile phone
    • Call your mobile phone
    • Enter a code from the authenticator
  5. After verification you will be prompted to create new password.  Passwords must be a minimum of 12 characters long, must be complex (not something simple like password1234) and must not match previous passwords.
  6. You should now be able to log in with your GRC student email address and new password
  7. To sign out, press CTRL-ALT-DEL and choose "sign out"

Holman Library Computer Lab

The Information Commons is an open computer lab located on the second floor of the Holman Library Building

During open hours the Information Commons Reference Desk is staffed by Faculty Librarians who are available to help with information and research.

Student-workers provide additional technology and computing assistance.

More than 150 computers are available for use by currently registered students. A limited number of laptops are available for check out. There are also a limited number of library research computers openly available to public patrons (limited to most college sites, library resources, no printing on the library research computers). 

The open student lab computers are available on a first-come, first-served basis, and provide
access to various online research databases, course-related specialized software, Microsoft Office and full Internet access.

DSS Computers in the HL Information Commons

It is Green River College's Policy to provide reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities with advance notice of need. If an accommodation is needed for any reason, please contact Disability Support Service (DSS) by phone (253.833-9111 ext. 2631), in person (SA 274), or via email (dss@greenriver.edu). To read more about DSS please see below (Disability Support Services).  ADA accessible stations are available in both Holman Library Information Commons and the Tech Center Open Lab. They provide computer hardware and software for students registered with DSS. In the library the two DSS computers are just west of the Reference Desk.

Quiet Lab

whisper-only environment conducive to study is located on the 2nd floor of the Technology Center (TC building). There is a Coffee Shop on the 1st floor – and drinks ARE allowed in the Lab.

During open hours the TC Open Quiet Lab is staffed by student help-desk workers who can provide technology and computing assistance. There are a few in-lab webcams and headsets to check out.

Study Tables

The outside area near the windows are full of study tables with a great view of campus. These are first come, first serve.

 


Group Study Areas

There are four reservable Quiet Voice Group Study Cubicles with White Board and Computer(s). Reserve one at the front desk of the lab.

A small computer lab is available on Kent Campus in Room 272.

The computer lab on Kent Campus (Room 272) offers 25 computers which are available for use by currently registered students.

The open student lab computers are available on a first-come, first-served basis, and provide access to various online research databases, course-related specialized software, Microsoft Office and full Internet access.

The campus also offers in-person Student Help-Desk (SHD) support Monday through Thursday. SHD provides technology and computing assistance for any student. They are located at the Help Desk on the second floor.
