Whether you're taking an online, hybrid, or enhanced course, eLearning is here to help you succeed in digital learning environments. This guide is your starting point for navigating Canvas, finding support, and preparing for a successful quarter. Online learning offers flexibility and convenience—but it also requires strong time management, regular participation, and comfort with technology. We’re here to make sure you have what you need to get started and stay on track.

Getting Started with Your Online Course

Once you register for an eLearning class, it’s important to log in to Canvas on the first day of the quarter. Plan for consistent computer access, and make sure your device meets the recommended Canvas technology requirements. You’ll find your course listed in Canvas by noon on the first day—sometimes sooner. If you don’t see your class listed, don’t worry—it may not be published yet. Check back on the first day or reach out to your instructor.

Support and Resources

We know online learning can come with questions—whether it’s about logging in, submitting assignments, or accessing course materials. The eLearning department offers support through email, phone, and in-person help. This guide also includes tutorials, troubleshooting tips, and answers to frequently asked questions. If you're new to Canvas, start with the "My GRC Backpack" course to learn how to navigate your dashboard, check grades, and participate in discussions.

Tips for Success

Set a schedule, log in to Canvas regularly, and don’t hesitate to ask for help. Online learning works best when you stay engaged and communicate with your instructors and classmates. If you need additional support with technology access, accessibility accommodations, or academic help, be sure to check the campus resources linked here.
