Focus your search results with:
  • Advanced search & search field options
  • Limiters to focus on source type, date range, subject, and more
Search Tips:
  • Build your search slowly, trying a range of search terms that capture your focus.
  • Use AND to connect and focus your key ideas.
  • Use OR to search for synonyms or similar ideas in one search.
  • Use quotation marks to search for phrases.
  • Use truncation (the asterisk at shift 8) to search for multiple forms from the root of a word.
  • Click on a title and read the description or abstract to decide if a source looks relevant and useful.
  • Look for Subject Terms that capture your focus. The database will pull together sources on that subject.

Can't Find the Full Text of an Article?

  1. Note down the author, title of article, name of the magazine, journal or newspaper, and date of publication
     
  2. Make an Interlibrary Loan Request using the link below. Digital articles will be sent directly to you if you provide your email. Print articles are sent to Holman Library. We can arrange to send them to you or you can pick them up from the library.
    • Note: Requesting electronic articles from another library often takes 1-3 business days, or up to a week for physical item requests.
