They don’t just heal or kill your mind with your choice of which stories you listen to, which stories you tell yourself. Stories can heal or destroy your body. You can cripple yourself with nocebo stories. The placebo effect isn’t just thinking you feel better: your health genuinely improves. Your immune system is stronger, better able to fight off infections. Your internal organs work more optimally. Improved mental health improves physical health. This is what I am trying to get across to you— the power of story."
