NoodleTools How to Guide

View videos that teach you how to create a personal ID, create a new project, start a Works Cited/ References page, print or export citations using NoodleTools.

Logging into NoodleTools

When you first reach the NoodleTools Sign In screen from the library's website, you have two options.

  1. OPTION #1 - If this is your first time using NoodleTools, you can set up a new account by choosing School/University Account and then selecting "Register" as shown below.

  1. OPTION #2 - You can sign in if you have already chosen a personal username and password. 

As of summer 2024, NoodleTools is requiring you to have a username that is your GRC student email address (your email address that ends in @student.greenriver.edu)   
Note: faculty please use your GRC faculty email address.

What to do next time you log in to NoodleTools:

  1. If your username is NOT your GRC email address, you can start login to NoodletTools with your current username (also called "Personal ID") and password.

  2. Then you will then immediately receive the following prompt (see image below) indicating that NoodleTools will change your username to your GRC email address

  3. Follow the prompt instructions to receive a verification code that will be sent to your GRC email inbox

  1. Open your GRC email inbox to retrieve the verification code

  2. Enter the verification code into the next NoodleTools prompt (see image below) and click verify

  1. You will receive an on-screen verification message.

  2. After that you will be able to log in to NoodleTools with your GRC email address as your username and whatever password you originally chose when you first set up your NoodleTools account

Registering for An Account

If you are signing up for a new account, here are some important tips to know:

  • Always select the "linked to a library" account type, because you will use Holman Library's subscription.
  • Choose "I am a student" if you are a student. You can choose "I am a teacher" if you are an instructor and you want your students to be able to turn in their lists to you on NoodleTools.
  • You can choose any year you like for the "Expected Date of Graduation" - just give your best guess.
  • Make sure to fill out the "Phone Number" and "Initials" section - if you lose your username or password, this can help you recover your account information.
