Use Holman Library One Search to:
- Search for books, book chapters, videos, magazine articles, and more.
- Get an overview of information on a subject.
- Find useful search terms to use in subsequent searches.
Tips:
- Build your search slowly with multiple search terms.
- When useful, use quotation marks to keep words together as a phrase, or change contains to "contains exact phrase". Example: "supreme court"
Note: Go to individual databases for easier access to historical materials, additional subject terms, the most up-to-date streaming video content, and fewer results.

- Click on Advanced Search - after your initial search - to add/alter your search terms.
- Use the filters in the menu to limit by source type, subject, year, and more.

My search of Voting Rights Act AND supreme court returned 5,464 results. That includes a range of source types, dates, etc.
- Note that the search results in my image show both books and articles (in this case, the articles are scholarly peer reviewed journal articles).
