DRMA 151: Plays and Monologues

Play Scripts in the Holman Library

Some play scripts are published separately, but others are published in anthologies. This list is intended to make the scripts easier to find. The list is arranged alphabetically, by the family name (usually last name) of the author.  It can also be searched by play title.

If the book does not contain the whole play, but only selected scenes (including monologues), that will be noted in the list.

Links to electronic books and streaming videos are also included.

When searching for plays and monologues in the library catalog, choosing the right search terms is important.  Without the right search terms, you won't find what you're looking for!

For example, if you search our catalog for the word "play," you will find resources about "how children play", not scripts!!

  • When subject searching for plays:

    • In the library catalog, Drama usually covers works on drama as a literary form. "Drama" breaks down into many subcategories, such as period of time, i.e., Drama--20th century.

    • Works on drama as acted on the stage, including drama criticism, is usually entered under Theater.

    • Works on facilities used to stage drama, is usually entered under Theaters.

    •
  • To find the monologue and scene collections that the library owns, do a subject search for monologues in the catalog.
