Literary Cities and Spaces

Profile of the East - West City

Decide what makes your city an “East-West” city. Conduct some research on the city today and explain how it is influenced by both Eastern and Western cultures. Consider these features when writing about your city: history with the East and the West, geographical position, racial/ethnic demographics, political and economic relationships between the East and West, religious and cultural influences throughout the city, design of the city itself, etc.

Research your City

Suggested Reference Sources

Enter your city into the Advanced Search screen.

  • If you change your city to Subject, you will find articles in which your city is the focus.
  • If you leave your city as Keyword, you will get more articles in which your city is mentioned as part of a larger discussion.

Either can be useful.
