The first great place to find a map of your city is Google maps. Note that at the top left corner of any Google map, you can change the map view from street to traffic, terrain, etc. You can also shift to a satellite view, as in this snapshot of downtown Boston.
Another fabulous functionality of Google maps is the Street View. You can be a tourist in your city without even going there! To access Street View, hold your cursor over the little yellow guy on the bottom right side of your map. He'll move:
Then drag him to the map, and you get Street View!:
