Use Holman Library One Search to search all library collections


Searching with HL One Search

  • Build your search slowly with multiple search terms, using the drop-down options to add Boolean limiters, as shown. 
  • When relevant, use quotation marks to keep words together, as a phrase. Example: "affordable housing"

Note: Go to individual databases for academic subject terms and more specific search filters (see the "Searching article databases" tab of our guide).

When you see results, you may need to limit further. As shown in the image below...

  • use the limiters on the left to filter your results by source type, subject, date, language, and more.

Using HL One Search to expand research

  • Search the entire Holman Library collection for books, ebooks,  articles, streaming videos, and more all at once.
  • Find items available in Holman Library, not just online.
  • Get an overview of information on a subject (browse the results).
  • Track down citations or related articles (you can search by an article or journal title, or an author's name).

How to log in to the GRC databases?

Off-Campus or on the WiFi network: You will need to log in to the Green River portal to use the library databases. To do this:

  • Click on the big green button that says "Click here to log on to Holman Library databases"
  • On the Green River College sign-on screen: enter your GRC student email and email password

On-campus, you don't need to worry about logging in to use library databases.
