One Book 2011/2012: The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks: Spring Event

One Book 2011/2012

Women in Academic Science Event

Women in Academic Science: Where Are We Today?

What is the current status of women in science and how far have we come over the last thirty years?

Please join us Wednesday May 16 from 12pm-1pm in SC 101

Angela Ginorio, UW Associate Professor of Gender, Women and Sexuality Studies, analyzes the numbers and stories of women in science and she shares with us her response to the question of just how far women have come. Ginorio also points out that we cannot talk about women in science without talking about the relationship between women and science. Ginorio discusses the Henrietta Lacks story as one example of the complicated relationship between women and science.

The entire GRCC community is welcome to join us at this One Book event.
